The NON-digital, one-of-a-kind collages/photomontages (sourced from vintage and recent magazines circa 1953-2010) were a focal point of Yon's premier solo exhibition 'Coded World', shown at Santa Fe Collective (July 9-31, 2016). Textile
By inserting language into humble craft, multiple meanings (personal/political/cultural) combine with textural associations, offering an opportunity to consider Identity, desire, and communication in a subtly transgressive context. The hooked and latch-hooked textiles present in Yon's premier solo exhibition 'Coded World' (SFe Collective July 9-31 2016) are made from recycled materials, natural and man-made.
